AC Repair

Warm air, strange noises, short cycling or a unit that won't start. We find the problem and fix it.

When the air conditioner quits in a Kentucky July, the house heats up fast. Most AC problems come down to a handful of things: a failed capacitor or contactor, a refrigerant leak, a frozen coil, a clogged drain line or a thermostat problem.

We test the system, show you what failed, and tell you the cost before we fix it. If the unit is old enough that repair doesn't make sense anymore, we'll tell you that too.

We serve homes and businesses in Olive Hill and within 35 miles, including Grayson, Morehead, Ashland and Vanceburg.

Questions

AC Repair FAQ

Why is my AC running but not cooling?

Common causes are a dirty filter, a frozen coil, low refrigerant from a leak, or an outdoor unit that isn't running even though the indoor fan is. Check that the filter is clean and the outdoor unit is on. If it still isn't cooling, turn it off to keep the compressor from overheating and give us a call.

Is it worth repairing an old air conditioner?

It depends on the age of the system, the cost of the repair and how often it's been breaking down. A simple part on a 15-year-old unit can be worth fixing. A failed compressor on that same unit usually isn't. We'll give you both numbers so you can decide.
